NEW – Nordic XT
This program is for high schoolers who are looking for a low-impact, cross-training alternative to their primary sport that complements their off-season efforts to maintain and build fitness in a fun and social environment. We’ll work off an adaptable training plan that promotes endurance fitness while mixing in some fun intensity sessions, focusing primarily on skate technique. No cross-country skiing experience required. Dryland training will consist of hikes/runs in Ponderosa State Park, Nordic-specific strength/agility exercises, and games of ultimate frisbee. Once on snow, we’ll split into experienced and new skier groups to start the
season, with an eye towards merging the groups once the new skiers are up to speed on technique. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If athletes are interested in trying their hand at a local race or two, coach/wax support will be available. But no racing is required. More information HERE.
